This is a prelude to a month on a clinical food program from a gal who loves her groceries….
D-Day: Clinical Food Program Day 1
It’s April Fools, though no kidding it’s my first day of a month-long clinical food trial. I’m putting my mouth where my money is as this is my own personal test drive of a client’s program.Heck, if my job is to put their website on a diet, it seems only fitting that they put me on one. They didn’t have to force me; I volunteered and even paid for the food.
The program, recommended by over 15,000 doctors, and promises typical results of 8-22 pounds of healthy weight loss a month. That’s much more than the typical ½ pound a month most programs deliver.Skeptic that I am, I can’t resist satisfying my curiosity.
My goal is to shed the final 10 pounds that will return me to my optimum weight.Already lost 15 (thank you Holly Stokes for your help with that), though really my goal is to move from an “excess fat” of 32% into the “moderately lean” status, 23-30% (won’t admit at this stage is how many pounds of fat that is).Now percentage-wise, that’s not a whole lot, but those last 10 pounds or so can be pretty darned stubborn. And I am a gal who does indeed enjoy eating. In fact, I’m embarrassed to admit, over the years, I’ve consistently out-eaten my male partners, who tend to be rather shocked at what I pack away.As a bit of a foodie, too, it’s probably not that surprising a former boyfriend rather aptly nicknamed me “the food spectrometer”.Which will means this aint gonna be easy as this runs totally counter to my natural tendency to eat whatever and whenever I want.
Sure, this program is designed to deliver results for folks with lots more to lose than me, folks with 40, 50 even 100 or more pounds to lose. But it’s those first 21 days that make or break a new habit, so it’s still gonna be tough. My hope is that the program is going to be easier to stick with that I expect, that I can whole-heartedly recommend it to others, while at the same time honestly admitting own challenges.
My last hurrah was a wonderful meal at Woody’ Tacos … warm chips, salsa fresca, killer guacamole, a shrimp and a carne asada mini taco and some roasted asparagus topped with shallot vinaigrette.Later, some 85% organic dark chocolate from TJs and some walnuts.Bye bye freestyle eating for at least another month.
Hello, grab and go… and onto my ideal, healthy figure, recognizing the change will be more than just for one month to maintain what I hope to achieve. It will be a change for life.
Now I’m not gonna say just yet whose program this is.First, I want to experience the program myself. Second, their website re-write has launched, so we both need to successfully complete our diets before I ‘fess up.
this was such an amazing pre vitela that i'm waiting for the post blog :)

Ahhh yup;)
Net result: between Holly Stokes, Expanding Potentials and Vitela Health (http://vitelahealth.com/main) I lost 30 pounds. I've not weighed that since high school (ummmm that would be over 30 years!).
Yup, worthy of a blog and not just a comment. Will do that in the next week or so.
