Maybe starting a new program on April Fools is not the very best idea.
Stacking up the day with 2 drive-to meetings, one a bit of a drive, might not be too big a deal. It was the twice-scheduled teleconference and the surprise call from a friend in the hospital (the surprise, figuring out when to meet here there, worrying about her, meeting her there, spending time with her afterward at my place… at least 3 unplanned for hours total) that spun the day quickly out of control.Oh, and throw in a too-private-to-blog-about-the-details personal crises.Just accept there is one.
The silly part is this food program really could have made it easier, if only I let it.The foods are pretty close to grab and go, nothing more complicated at most than adding water, stirring and microwaving.Uhhh, just need to time it, and have it on hand.
Little meals are great if you have them when you’re supposed to, not hours later.
Ok, as I learn, I adapt. This is a learning experience.
Lesson 1: Carry one to three either true grab and go or pre-prepared meals unless I want a loudly growling stomach on a busy day.
Lesson 2:Pre-prepare one of the more hearty meals.
Lesson 3:Recognize my palette likes more seasoning than some of the program’s off-the-shelf flavors; experiment and also learn from others and expect and accept some bland when time’s tight.
Lesson 4:When package directions say not all microwaves are created equal that means mine will boil over when I follow the allotted time directions
Lesson 5: Starting a new food program is not just physical; it is emotional too.Found myself a bit raw emotionally, more than normal even on a hectic day.
